I absolutely loved this book! If you are into mystery then this book is perfect. It's like Breakfast club meets Criminal Minds!

Mira que me había visto ya la serie, pero aún así me ha encantado el libro. Si te gustó Pequeñas Mentirosas, Riverdale o Guía de asesinato para principiantes, tienes que leerte este libro.

Update 2021: 1.5-2/5 stars. I preach all the time on my Instagram how problematic this book is since I had time to sit with it and I figured it was probably time to reflect that in my goodreads review. The way the author treats mental illness in this book, is not okay with me.

(3.5/5 stars)

This was an enjoyable read for me and I devoured most of it in one sitting (maybe read ~50 pages prior). This is a YA thriller-retelling of The Breakfast Club. I love The Breakfast Club and I love when people retell it with a mystery/thriller twist, it's basically an automatic read from me.

This story follows four teens who end up in detention with the student that runs the resident gossip site. However, this student is killed during detention and the story focuses on these four teens, and now suspects, and how they navigate the aftermath of this event.

My major issue with this book was that it was more of a YA contemporary than a mystery/thriller. I didn't really have an "OMG I did not see that coming" moments. There was a definite mystery aspect to story, however I was fairly easily able to figure out the ending. And I did find the reveal of the ending in the book a little lacklustre as well, not only because I saw it coming. I also have to say I was not happy with the ending of the book, and I was not happy with the epilogue either.

All-in-all this was an enjoyable read, and I did, like I said, read the majority in one sitting, however I believe it could be more suspenseful, and maybe less predictable.
