Really enjoyed listening to an abridged multi- voice version of this. Cuts to the heart of the story much better. Performed really well too.

I read this when I was in high school, and my memories of this story do not match what I just read. I was naive when I started this book for the second time as an adult. This was a very disturbing story. There are three sections. The first section is basically introducing us to the characters and the theme. The second section is the relationship with Julia. The third section is what nightmares are made of. Winston Smith is the protagonist. The tone is very dark, frustrating, and disturbing. There are a couple of parts that were hard to get through. I think this is the last time I will read this story. I am not as naive as I was yesterday.
