I really enjoyed this book. It was so fast paced and had twists throughout the book instead of only at the end. This is my second book by this author and I cannot wait to read some more.

Really gripping story! Terrifying for lots of reasons one of my favourite reads of the year
Switched at birth but make it a thriller! I listened to the audiobook for this book and I think that made it better. The audiobook was very easy to follow, which is often not the case. The beginning of this book was slow. This was an 11 hour book and I was kinda bored till hour 5. It wasn’t really much of a “twisty” book - which is fine, sometimes twists can really cheapen a book. This was my first fiction audiobook and while I did enjoy it, it wasn’t a must listen.
I will come back to this one later. I can't get into it right now. Why force it?
thanks for the ARC. I generally love his books and was wondering if this would be the exception. It was somewhat slow at first, took awhile to get into it. we knew right away there was a very "bad" person and that they were being set up and watched the horror, not actual horror but the horror of a terrible thing happening that you feel powerless to stop despite your best efforts. I liked the resolution and was glad i read it. I would give it a 4.5

One of those situations where a male attempts to write women's experience of childbirth/postpartum etc., and fails.
Also: none of these characters were redeemable, and I hated it. What an ugly book.

4.5 stars! This book is infuriatingly amazing. It had me hooked after every single page, i was so consumed by constant emotions of anger, sadness and sometimes happiness that i could not put the book down. The betrayal Pete and Maddie had to face due to Miles and Lucy was insane, they was lied to, accused and lied about in so many ways. Miles had tendencies of a psychopath from the start, his lack of emotion after Lucys birth and in general, his controlling and manipulative behaviour after telling Pete and Maddie that Theo was really his son, his murderous demeanour but even so i was still slightly stunned that lucy admitted to swapping the babies. This book not only was a thriller but also portrayed different relationships such as an emotional and physical abuse between Lucy and Miles in which she was eventually happily able to escape! Such an incredible book and writer!
