Nice quick easy listen, lovely story about female friendship

Only issues were not sure how changing bodies affected the storyline at all, and bit sly of the dad to say they were gonna adopt Empress and then just didn’t🥲

Short and sweet YA novella about friendship and love.

Two girls, from opposite backgrounds meet and form a friendship despite their differences. On their shared 16th birthday they accidentally cast a spell meaning they switch bodies. This is freaky friday with class and cultural differences and a smidge of Cinderella.

The two main characters are loveable and there is some witty dialogue. It is covers some grittier subjects such as child abuse and neglect. The story has a fairy tale like quality to it so there is a happy ending.

Would happily have read a full length version of this story.

This little book is like a contemporary fairy tale for tweens. A sweet, and heartwarming feel good tale.
