thanks to netgalley for a free ARC in exchange for an honest review!

this book was cute, light, and illustrated beautifully but fell flat in the plot department. the pacing was kind of all over the place and a lot of plot points felt unresolved and open-ended. additionally, based on the description i thought that food would be a little more significant in the story but rather the cooking/eating scenes didn't contribute much. however, i really enjoyed the inclusion of recipes at the end of the book and the characters, while not super well-developed, were at least nuanced and had distinct personalities.

Nice for what it is, definitely not one of my new favourite graphic novels or my favourite work about food. It doesn't really go in depth in any of the story lines, which I guess was the artistic choice but it just kind of left me feeling a bit lacklustre.

A slice of life, vibes only kind of graphic novel… with food illustrations that will make you hungry.

(4/5 stars) This slice of life graphic novel was packed with so much nostalgia for me - a group of girls in their senior year decide to form a Supper Club to spend time together despite life pulling them in different directions (different classes, different clubs). The story was a bit choppy and some plot points were more left to interpretation rather than explained, but the story never got completely lost for me. I appreciated the diverse characters and the representation of the struggles that many high schoolers experience but may not realize are universal -- anxiety, friendships changing, disappointment, sickness, etc. The art was well done and overall I enjoyed the quick read.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an advance copy of this graphic novel in exchange for an honest review!

little boring and hard to follow... I'm not the target age range.

I liked this graphic novel but thought it was a bit scattered. I think it needed another 50 pages or so to flesh it out. Still an enjoyable, quick read!
