Perfect easy read, if you've read the previous books. Yes, you can read it as a stand alone, but a lot of the things that make this book more than just sex scenes strung together are things connected to previous books.

I'm hoping the next book in the series will be a bit more substantial. I just like a bit more intrigue to my smut.

3.5 Stars ~ While this is the ninth book in the A Loving Nip series, it can be read as a standalone. However, I would recommend reading book five, Sharing a Demon’s Bond, to find out more about Toni and the reasons for his distrust of demons.

In this latest book of this series, Abyzou, a demon that serves Pestilence, is going about his duties when he comes upon a tantalizing scent. He realizes that vampire enforcer Toni Bastille is his amina (the same as beloved for vampires). But Toni is not enamored of demons. His favorite donor is bound to a demon, and Toni has no trust at all for demons in general.

Also contributing to Toni’s aversion to all things demon is his belief that drinking a demon’s blood is poisonous to vampires and that he would die if he ever did such a thing. Poor Abyzou is having a devil of a time getting Toni to listen to him, and he enlists the aid of Toni’s coven Master, Adalric, to help him convince Toni that he’s wrong in his view of the demons. He approaches Balthazar, another demon, and his human amina, Peter, to help him as well.

Even after proving that demon blood is not toxic, Toni is still reluctant to bond with Abyzou. But the mate pull is strong. Toni wises up and does the right thing. Along the way, he also gets to understand the meaning and reason for Abyzou’s job for Pestilence, and there is also a surprise showdown that leads to an exciting climax of the story.

Seducing His Reluctant Vampire is one of my favorite installments of this series. I’m really enjoying the demons that have been added to the mix of this world and also the Four Horsemen, by extension. Both Toni and Abyzou are interesting characters, and I can’t wait to see them together in more books in this series.
