Probably the most interesting, if uneven, storytelling in the Civil War arc, from the point of view of the reporters who cover it. Each issue ends with a piece of war poetry illustrated with panels juxtaposing actual wars with the Marvelverse one, which on one hand is a bit pretentious and self-important, but it's powerful material in its own right that could always use a wider audience.

Wow, did they copy the picture of Lee Harvey Oswald's death there?

This title and volume 2 follow in the foot steps of The Marvels in its look at the Marvel Civil War through a media perspective. It's not as good as the Marvels (few graphic novels not written by Alan Moore or Frank Miller are) but still adds a great, alternate perspective to this portion of the Marvel universe and the there isn't a panel in these two books involving the fallen hero Speedball that isn't pure tragedy.

Mainly about the start of super registration act and Speedball's role in it. See Nitro and Stamford.

My Rating - 2.5 Stars

I'm all over the place with my ratings in this series. However, [b:Civil War: Front Line, Vol. 1|396141|Civil War Front Line, Vol. 1|Paul Jenkins|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1463163543s/396141.jpg|385630] is one of those bonus stories that doesn't add much to the overarching plot, but does provide some behind the scenes look at, in this case, a group of people that often get overlooked in this superhero world: the reporters.

That being the case, it is fairly slow and I felt little connection to the characters. Get me back to the action!

I enjoyed the connections this makes between different Civil War story lines and the juxtaposition between other wars and this one was interesting. I didn't care for all the story lines, though. There are enough cliff hangers to want to read the second volume, though!

Ohh I liked this SO much. It felt very raw and real, and the historical aspect was handled in a very interesting way. This has been one of my favorite arcs of the Civil War event so far, and I'm looking forward to the second vol.
