I really liked this book, and found it to be a breath of fresh air for me. Lets start with the main character, Liv. I enjoyed Liv as a character, and I found her funny and sarcastic, and relatable in the sense that “none of this is possible but it feels like it could be” way. She loves her family very much and is very protective of those she loves. Then we have the boys, the 4 boys in the books are Grayson, Jasper, Arthur, and Henry. I think my favorite part about the guys was that there wasn't a love triangle between them and Liv, thankfully. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good love triangle, but it’s a little over done in young adult. I love the relationship that Liv has with Henry, it’s so happy and fun. I also liked the fact that the book went so… dark, I guess you could say. I wasn't expecting it to be that way, but it was a welcomed surprise. I had been reading this book for about 3 days and was only around 1/3 of the way done, but I sat down and stated to read today, and I just couldn't stop. I had to know what happened next! It was so well written, and you knew what was going on for the most part. Though there were a few confusing bits, but I think it was mostly the subject matter.

However much I enjoyed this book, there are a few things I didn't like about it, too. This books original print was in German, as Kerstin is a German author, so I think that some of it was translated weirdly. Like something would just sound a little bit off. It was always really small things, but it was just enough for me to notice, though I don’t know about other people having the same issue. But besides that, the translation was done very well. The only problem is now I have to wait for the next 2 books to be translated. Another small thing was that, to me, the relationship between Liv and Henry was weirdly fast. It didn't seem to have build up, in my opinion. Though I’m used to books where it takes a while for the characters to get together. I am okay with the characters getting together fast, but I would like to have a little more build to it. Other than those few things, I greatly enjoyed this book.

In conclusion, I really enjoyed this book, and had fun reading it. There were lots of twists and turns to it, but I liked how it came out. I can’t really think of a book that would compare to it, or even a mash up comparison. I would definitely recommend this to people who like fun paranormal books, or just people who like to read YA in general. I’m really excited for the next book to be translated!

This book exceeded my expectations in so many ways. It's an incredibly brilliant and unique plot. The world building is thorough and left me breathless. And I adored the quirky characters. I fell quickly into this vividly described world and loved the adventure. I'm looking forward to reading more from this talented author.
