Not a lot of point to this book if you've read Freakonomics.
What a rip off. This book is episodes of their free podcast, stitched together, with less information than the podcasts themselves. On top of that, the audiobook is literally 25% made of actual podcast episodes that are tacked on at the end to inflate the run time.
The information is cool, but you can just download eight hours of podcasts and get the same information.

Really enjoyed Freakonomics - at the time, using economics to consider incentives was an uncommon way of thinking. The second book was more of the same, and not as good. This thin book purports to "retrain your brain" and, while it gives some ideas, hardly fits the self-help label. In short, this is more of the same again, and fits somewhere between 2 and 3 stars here.
I really enjoyed this one! Interesting topics, and I always learn something new in their books as well as the Freakonomics podcast. The fecal transplant did make me flinch, but I understood the logic.
Interesting piece on quitting too.

Interesting but not really profound. A bit scattered in presentation and slightly condescending in tone at times. A bit too casual about the idea of manipulating or using people for my taste. But it did make me think about a few things.

By the nature of the book being different from the previous two it's not quite as engrossing, but still worth the read. I will admit that it is depressing how little these ways of thinking are present in the major national dialogue in the US currently.
I had really high expectations from this but mostly because I'm a huge fan of the podcast. Sadly I did not find a lot of value in the book. The chapters are really boring and the content is nothing inspiring. I ended up skipping or skimming most of the book.
