The whole series is a bit slow, and doesn't live up to the potential of the concept, but this first issue is really good.

I'm delighted that the series takes everything seen as "disgusting" or at least "not glamorous" about women (blood, old age, the ability to give life, ambition, etc.) and makes them the reasons they're powerful and feared. The "wolf mother" is everything women are forbidden to be, I can't wait for her to get her revenge!

Three women, witches, are hunted by this family throughout the years (and men in general). Now they’re housewives who haven’t “awoken” essentially to their true identities. There’s definitely violence and gore here which I thought was an interesting juxtaposition to the latter half of the issue in brightly illustrated suburbia. I’m invested and interested to see where this goes.

31 pages my butt. This is the first single issue I've picked up from a non-independent publisher and there so much wasted pages here. It's just filled with promotionals of other stories.
Also edit because damnit! I said I was going to start doing something this year and already forgot. Diversity here! F/F romance/sexy times!
Blech!
That said, I love the dark elements of this and really dug what I got so far. I'm definitely interested in seeing where these witchy ladies go from here and hope there's more gore in my future with this comic!
