Ack!! Instead of helping me, this book had me worried. For starters, I spotted early in pregnancy and thought that I might be miscarrying, so I consulted the book. A couple words on how spotting "can" be normal transitioned right into a discussion of miscarriage. Thanks loads. Happily, I went on to have a healthy baby; during pregnancy, I also went on to consult healthier books. Thumb through it if you like, but definitely keep other pregnancy books on hand.

Ugh. This book is maybe good if you have it lying around and no access to the internet and need to look up some random symptom, but other than that, I did not like it. Thankfully, it was a free kindle Amazon loan, so I didn't pay a dime for not liking it.

As a soon-to-be father, this book taught me so much. I thought it might be overwhelming, but on the contrary it made me feel more prepared - and it especially helped me to understand the process my wife is going through. Long read but highly recommend.

This is a comprehensive book. I'll probably continue to reread and use it as a reference as different sections become more relevant.

I can't imagine pregnancy without What to Expect! This book was vital to my sanity throughout my experience.

This is fine. I know everyone dogs on the cutesiness of it, but it is a good week by week/month by month description of pregnancy. Almost all of this is in the WTE app now, but I wanted to read the book too.

I will say, it's time for her to stop with fathers and use the term partners at least. It's 2022 and not all parental relationships with babies are a female and a male.

Although since I don't have a partner I at least could skip all the "for fathers" callout boxes, so I had less stuff to read and be annoyed by.

Thoroughly overviews the basics, but damn, this is anxiety-provoking.

Just finished... It should seriously be called 'What to be Anxious About When You're Expecting'.. I am totally paranoid about EVERYTHING going wrong now.. :/

There was about a small section about what you could ACTUALLY expect and then the rest of the chapter was about anything and everything that could go wrong. I understand that the things that could go wrong are important to be aware of, but seriously? Was there a need to go into that much detail and freak a first time mom out!?
