This book was quick and entertaining, though not what I expected. I anticipated more of a memoir, instead it really was a how-to guide for actors just starting out with Jenna’s personal anecdotes sprinkled throughout.

I enjoyed it and would recommend for anyone you wants to get into acting or those who are interested in a behind-the-scenes look into show business.

Not my fav memoir I’ve read, had some good insights. Her podcast with Angela is AMAZING.

I wanted to be an actor for an extremely short period of time (theatre, not on screen), and was always curious about what that would be like prior to 'success'. Not only does Jenna Fischer discuss interesting stories from her nearly decade long struggle before she landed on the Office, she also has practical and insightful tips for aspiring actors. Although now I know for sure that is not the life for me, it's still interesting to have a peek through the curtains into what may have been.

Note: quite literally what it says - it is a guide to surviving as an actor, not an autobiography.

I enjoyed this despite having no interest in becoming an actor myself. I grabbed this one because I enjoy Jenna's Instagram stories and her authentic, humorous delivery of her daily life. This book felt like an extended Instagram story about her life as an actress. Her anecdotes are funny and raw, her advice is pragmatic, yet encouraging, and her life motivates others to chase their dreams with passion. I felt energized to take actionable steps to my own dreams.

This book also holds a special place in my heart since I started listening to it the night before my job interview in Longview, TX and finished it while settling into my apartment in Longview.

LOVE THIS BOOK!!!! It is a MUST read for anyone who wants to make it in the acting scene. Fischer gives so many valuable tips. This whole book would be highlighted! The forward by Steve Carell is so touching and I love that they're still good friends after The Office.

Side note: If you haven't already, check out "The Office Ladies Podcast" with Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey for more in-depth, behind-the-scenes realness from The Office.

I’m not an actor, nor do I want to be but I still found this enjoyable. I think a lot of the advice of persistence, patience and hard work can be applied to any career field. It was also just fun to hear stories of Jenna’s life and career.
