Wow Slimani’s writing is excellent, excellent story told brilliantly, each sentence is loaded.

Did not like the writing style and you never end up finding out what happens to the nanny and kids. Disappointed.

J'ai rien d'autre à dire, c'était moi, je me suis ennuyée alors que la première phrase m'a hypé de fou (phrase à la Camus) et au final je suis déçue
Mais je ne peux pas dire que c'est mal écrit, puisque je suis allée jusqu'au bout

10/10 : “The baby is dead. It took only a few seconds.” Those are the words that stand out on the front cover of this book, instantly getting your attention. I had a strong feeling this was going to be good, & it did not disappoint. I started & finished this book today, utterly engrossed. Telling the harrowing account of a nanny, whose love for the children she cares for, & the family she so desperately, obsessively wants to find herself a place in, goes horribly, tragically wrong. This is a gripping novel, written with such skill & I highly recommend it.

Un petit livre parfait.
