Not the most satisfying read, maybe deliberate by the author that you’re left with a ton of questions and no answers. In some ways that probably makes the story more harrowing.

Having the end of the start of the book did feel a bit anticlimactic for a thriller, knowing how it ends did allow you to watch the development of Louise’s mania, and made you pay more attention to the smaller signs. But equally, the ‘twist’ at the start does remove the build up and the tension as the book goes on.

Nothing that hasn’t been done before, but a quick and easy read none the less.

I loved it--couldn't put it down. The book is about a family who hires a nanny to care for their two children, while they work. Both parents have careers that require much of their time, allowing the nanny to sort of take over their house and their children. In fact, the nanny appears perfect at first....a psychological thriller at its best!! A great read.

Nothing happened; it was just moody internal dialogue (not even enough to be enthralling and guiltily entertaining) until the end, when something finally happened but was stated without any emotion. It didn't create any empathy or excitement/suspense.

Great examination of class and gender and parenting and a blistering read. Would strongly recommend. Probably won't read again but will keep it on the shelf and will read more by the author
