SHAKER OF EARTH was a fantastic, action packed conclusion to the second SPECTR series. It was quite the emotional roller-coaster as Caleb, Gray, and John fight to protect Charleston alongside precious few allies. After everything they've been through I'm happy to see the way this one ended, because if anyone deserved peace and freedom it's Caleb and Gray.

I could not put this book down. I practically read it in one sitting! So exciting, and even though Caleb, Gray, and John spend so much time apart, the times together make it worth it.

This was a great conclusion to this story arc. I love this series and eagerly await the third part.

What an explosive (haha get it) finale to the series!

As always, phenomenal world building, creepy monsters, blood-pumping action, lovely character development with lots of feels. I adore everything about these books, and can’t wait to stuff my eyeballs with the continuation to find out what’s next.

Love it

I am always so excited about a new Jordan L Hawk book. And, as always, this one doesn't disappoint. There's action and emotion and everything I need.

Well that's a wrap up for you. Pretty good also.

I didn't love this like the first 2 book in this second series because it had the come to a "battles to end all battles", and those battle came a few times, which we've seen before in SPECTR 1. I was actually expecting something like this here too. Along with these, there is a little down time where we get a little vindication, of course, for which we've been waiting for the last 2 books. So there is a predictability factor for one, though it is done in a different way this time around and has a different cause for certain.

So the enjoyment is all about the cause which we have been seeing coming for a while and so we wonder how is it going to go down and what explanation will we get. I think it was pretty well reasoned
Spoiler for a crazy Drakul that is obsessed with his friend and jealous of the other friends, especially since they are insignificant humans. He has reason to be crazy and to dislike the humans since he was tortured for years by being entrapped under the sea. I actually thought he entry into Grey's life was pretty well planned. That he infiltrated SPECTR long before approaching Grey, showed he knew he needed to turn Grey to him. We know that would never happen.
That both John and Caleb question the other's trust was well done also. Put in a couple, just a couple hot erotic scenes and it carries the rest of story.

So if that was it, a predictability on general plot, I would have given it a 5 but... there were two glaring irritations for me. 1.
SpoilerThe distrust between partners. I understand the distrust of SPECTR but that Caleb cannot trust John with all of what is going on and the John does tell Zahira a bit more also as she sees the bigotry directed at Caleb and Grey. Neither go to the head and of course she comes in when it all goes FUBAR. Taking that much directed hatred to a creature that is uber powerful. I didn't understand it any better than Connar when she came in.
and 2. If Caleb is down, and we have a unstoppable force,
Spoiler feed him before anything else. If you want the blood, draw it while some one brings him food. He has to be up to strength if you expect to rely on him. So it was too predictable that there would be a food issue.
That pretty much stopped me from being able to love this. Don't get me wrong it is really good and the ending is great as it is wrapped up (again) for John and Caleb. I'm really happy with the direction, for the time being.

Arc provided by author as Patreon reward. But this is my honest review I LOVED the ending to this series (don't worry there is a series 3 coming with the same MCs). The story line ended nicely, there was some great action scenes and I think Gray made some important realizations that were needed for the character to grow.

The conclusion to the second offbranch of the series. As always well written, but short, and the characters are separated quite a bit. I really liked the new family and finally hope they are getting away from the annoying SPECTR environment a bit. Will be happy when the third series comes out.
