It was promising at first but then the memories coming back were just tooooo over the top contrived. Also took a star off for it being a cliffy. Hate those.

Here's the thing with two parter books, or even books in a series, I hate cliffhangers. Usually because writers dredge up some kind of foolish drama to end the book with then prolong that drama through the next book (I'm gonna save the long winded rant for Heading East)
However, I really liked this book. It was great, but I wish it would have stopped here with a nice HEA. If it had it'd definitely get a 4.5 or something, but instead it's a solid 3.
