Gods… this book. I absolutely loved it. Sebastian and Phoenix’s love for one another, it’s so beautiful.
I love how Sebastian and Phoenix grow into themselves. This is definitely a book I’ll be rereading/adding to my physical library

I had some mixed feelings about this book and had some difficulty with my rating so I settled on 3 “I liked it” stars
I enjoyed the first half of the book the most. I loved the forbidden age-gap/teacher-student relationship and all the angst & tension that comes with it. Their size difference was hot and I loved it when Sebastian would get jealous & possessive
Then we got to the big dramatic reveal. Surprise pregnancy is probably my least favorite trope but the angst was high and I thought, this could work.
But it kind of fell flat for me after that. I was expecting more angst but it felt more like “slog through this bit while Phoenix hangs out with his friends until he can be with Sebastian”. I guess I had my own ideas of how the story should go and felt disappointed when it didn’t go that way
I did enjoy the author’s writing style though and the discussions of philosophy were different and thought provoking. I’ll definitely try out more of their stories

Even though I'm not a fan of Liam Dicosimo,he did a good job narrating. Tim Paige was good too.

I read the first part of the book with one hand on my heart, tears in my eyes, and the knowledge that I was beginning to read something spectacular. I was right. CP has cemented herself a 1-click author for me... for many reasons. Her passion for her characters, her devotion to create the perfect book and her way with words. WHAT I LOVED...
1. The Characters…
Phoenix: Senior, Philosopher, Driven, Ambitious and completely unprepared for meeting Professor Sebastian Wicked. #CaughtOffguard
Phoenix broke my heart from the beginning of the prologue. He was pure and innocent, but he was also powerful and passionate. from his relationship with his late dad, to his relationship with Sebastian, he showcased a perfect Arch of growth and development.
Sebastian: Philosophy Professor, Grieving, Lonely and unaware that his life will forever be changed after meeting Phoenix. #UnderMySkin
Sebastian was larger than life in Phoenix's eye, he was a God, his very own Plato. In reality though, Sebastian was vulnerable and flawed. He needed Phoenix even more than Phoenix needed him... he needed Phoenix to heal him, resurrect him, erase his pains and fill his life with life and happiness.
The Plot…
Both characters find a kindred spirit in the other, connect at a molecular level and fall for each other’s mind and body. But Phoenix is a student, and Sebastian is his professor. Their relationship is forbidden with many obstacles but it is also inevitable. Little moments made their story unforgettable and larger moments made it memorable.#NoMatterWhat
The Romance…
It is romantic and sexy, slow and steady, organic and explosive. Phoenix brings light, laughter and love to Sebastian’s world, while Sebastian brings stability, strength and satisfaction. The give and take between Phoenix and Sebastian made all the difference. Even with Sebastian's alpha nature, the way he cherished Phoenix and was patient with him, was a way that showed that lust didn't guide him. Sebastian groomed him and empowered him, gave him the chance to grow and flourish. On the Other hand, Phoenix was the light, the childishness and the levity Sebastian needed to finally breakaway from his past . #PowerExchange
Steam-o-meter: HIGH, EXPLOSIVE, PANTY-MELTING HEAT! And what I loved was the pacing... how they didn't just fall into anal. ultimately, Phoenix was an 18-year old virgin, and he needed patience. #ColdShower
Angst-o-meter: Angsty!!! But... #ItHurtsSoGood
HEA: Hard-earned, moving and worth the wait. I loved the epilogue and it made my heart soar. The bonus scenes were just as important, just as moving and just as beautiful. #TheBeginningOfForever
Even though I'm not a fan of Liam Dicosimo,he did a good job narrating. Tim Paige was good too.

This was an emotional rollercoaster of a book and from page one, you're hooked. Phoenix is a wonderfully broken character and while it took me longer to like Sebastian, I eventually got there. The relationship between the two sparks from the beginning, both of them searching for something they lost, each having their own reasons for giving into their passion, but the way their relationship developed, slowly and with an understanding each man had for the other, kept me reading. Although emotional and heart-wrenching at times, I'm glad I read Phoenix and Sebastian's story.
I started this book thinking I was really going to enjoy it. Then I read one of the 1-star reviews and I think it ruined it for me (lesson learned). I really got stuck about halfway through this book thinking about what the review had said and I don't agree. Yes, this book has some taboo parts to it but in reality, they are both adults. Yes, this book has some real messy characters that are broken and fall into love and it starts as a really unhealthy relationship. But it also seemed real and honest and for a lack of a better word messy. In the end, I really did enjoy this book and all its messiness.
