mio dio quanto mi ha distrutto questo libro. l'ultimo capitolo sopratutto, un capolavoro. se avete perso o avete rischiato di perdere una persona cara questo libro è per voi

“Have you ever considered the fact that maybe the goal of life isn’t to get through it as painlessly as possible?”

this was extremely good and lovely. harper was relatable most of the time and chloe was greatly captivating, i fell in love with her as fast as harper did. such a great sapphic love story, i can even excuse a couple of blank holes and the lack of boldness. like what do you mean we go through more than a half of the book and we don't get a mention of harper glancing at chloe's forehead once? like okay i get it chloe's eyes are what draw harper's attention but you're telling me the girl doesn't give her a forehead look not once in a while? suspicious. the fact that robbie was basically forgotten once they started spending time together didn't sit quite right with me. i thought they were gonna have a heartwarming friendship and in reality we don't even get to explore much of it. all those things being said, i do think the story itself had a lot of wasted potencial, sadly. i thought maybe harper's number herself would be really low and maybe we'd get her death instead of chloe's somehow, but turns out the story ended way simpler. it is what it is though, and i appreciate the story and the characters for what they are cause it was an amazing book overall with incredibly lovable characters and it was literally so heartwarming and comforting, despite all the sorrow

“The thing is, I know what it’s like to get shot, and I’ve learned from it. I’m not letting it happen again. You’ve never been shot, so you don’t know how bad it feels.”

also this gave me ellie and joel from the last of us in "you have no idea what loss is"

sapphic summer romance with dash of magic realism is the combination i never knew i wanted in my life. loved this, and cried a little at the end because chloe and harper were just so fricking cute.
