This was the best of the 3 book so far and I loved it.
✓✓It's a Cinderella retelling with just the right amount of a slow burn.
✓✓I absolutely adored Sophie she is the strongest protagonist in this series (atleast till now).
She is kind and smart and always so positive that you can't help but root for her. She's had a tough childhood so seeing her being treated right by the Mrs Crabtree and then the Bridgerton family was really emotional. And yes I absolutely loved Violet in this, she is such a proud and supporting mother!!
It was also nice to see Sophie stand upto Benedict on what she wanted even though he was so (too much for my liking) persistent.
✓✓Which brings me to the other aspect, that is Benedict. Though I liked him more than the other two MMC in the series. I wished he was written a little differently. He just didn't seem to respect Sophie's choice and it irritated me so much.
✓✓Now, he did apologise for it later but Idk, it feels like the author does this quite often. All her MMCs have a really bad attitude towards their LI sometimes. Which I know is somewhat just reflective of the time period it is set in but I just wish there were some liberties taken by the author to tone down the misogyny.

Nevertheless, I am excited for the show's take on this one, It feels like an easy thing to mend because show Benedict is a better character than book Benedict. I can't wait to see Sophie on screen

Benedict Bridgerton captures sight of a stunning woman at the masquerade ball but she slips away before he is able to find out her name. Sophie Beckett is the daughter of an earl but is forced to be a servant by her stepmother. They cross paths years later when Benedict must rescue her from a dreadful situation, but he can’t figure out why she seems so familiar.

A classic Cinderella retelling is always a hit for me, especially when Sophie’s story is so sad to start out with. This book is my favorite in the series so far. The way Lady Bridgerton comes in and takes care of the situation at the end is just perfect.

Book Benedict is different from Netflix Benedict, but I treated this story as separate from the show. I think that's why I enjoyed it as much.

Devoured this in a day. Far less spicey than the first two books in the series, but this was my favorite so far. Right mix of drama and heart. Made me tear up at the end. Sophie and Benedict had the most endearing love to me. PLEASE check content/trigger warnings, there is are SA situations in this novel that could be upsetting for survivor .

This was a great read to continue my adventures with the Bridgertons. I loved Sophie and her relationship with Benedict had all the best parts of any Cinderella story. I loved seeing Violet, Colin, Hyacinth, and all the other small moments between the family. This has the markings of a comfort read.
