This was very cute. I wasn’t sure if I’d like it early on as the FMC was such a doormat, but all the characters were immensely loveable so it swept me along for the ride. The love interest was wonderful in this!

Everett St. James makes this worth the read. I want to watch this book on film. He’s like a young Mr. Rogers, and I adore him.

I loved the characters, the witty banter, the Chloe/Nick/Gary cameos, and Kerry Winfrey's delightful writing. This was a fun book to binge, and the conflict felt real rather than contrived. It was the perfect mix of Legally Blonde and You've Got Mail that I didn't know I needed.

Kerry, I just want to hug you for writing this absolutely precious book. I didn't think anything could come close to my love for Waiting for Tom Hanks, but this is now at the exact same level. It's like a giant mug of warm mocha mixed with love. I just adored every second of the story!

First of all, we have a really precious friends-to-lovers trope that manifested in a really natural (albeit hilarious) fashion. It was really interesting watching as the main character worked through what was truly a debilitating codependency struggle in her toxic relationship and how that transferred over to her daily life. Seeing her find joy again in the little things like "Teddy Time" was so special!

I also loved the fact that all the characters were so supportive in their own ways. From the store owner to the best friends and the romantic relationship as well. And of course, it was so much fun seeing some faves from Not Like the Movies! I didn't realize this book took place in the same world so it just made me so happy!

Overall, I couldn't stop smiling throughout the story. I listened to the audiobook in a little over a day and it felt like I was just sitting with a bunch of friends. I can't wait to read it again soon. It'll definitely be a comfort book!

Kerry Winfrey fan over here. It’s official. I’m 3/3 for her rom coms and if there was another one I hadn’t read yet, I’d go get my hands on it today.

Loved:
• cozy feeling, she does that so well
• the female friendships at the center of the story
• neither Teddy nor Everett were traditional rom com stars, so it was refreshing to see more unexpected characters in those roles
• the balance in tone between funny / slightly melancholy / heartwarming
• what the novel says about work life balance and finding meaning in work and life
• genuinely funny moments

Howevers
• Everett was a little one dimensional at times, though I get that this was part of the point of the novel
• I know KW writes novels with very low steam, but I wish she’d venture a little more into the 🔥 department

And now this book will take its place on a very happy little part of my bookshelf alongside Winfrey’s first two rom coms. Keep them coming!

Kerry Winfrey has a gift for writing books that just completely capture your heart. Teddy is a joy of a character and I loved walking through her journey of finding herself as a person and appreciating every single aspect of herself, even when she's been made to feel like there are certain parts to feel ashamed of.

I really enjoyed Teddy's friends. Those are without a doubt the kind of people you want by your side no matter what. They were constantly making me smile with their crazy antics and their absolute deviation to helping one another.

Everett. My goodness. I just loved his character. And I loved his and Teddy's journey to one another. Their emails were so cute and the near misses of meeting one another had me laughing. And the epilogue? My heart 🥺

I also really enjoyed the message throughout about how different people's journeys to finding their passions are. Whether you gravitate toward one thing and stick with it forever or have a lot of little passions throughout your life, you can find yourself in this story.

Just go pick this one up, you won't regret it.
