This was by far my favourite of the series. Charlie and Nova made the most sense to me and I loved their relationship arc! It all felt very genuine. Strong vibes of community, belonging and just cosiness and wonderfulness! No third act breakup - YAY! This feels like one I will reread.
Really appreciate the lack of a traditional 3rd act breakup, but I hated the pet name so much I had to dock 1-2 stars based on it alone. I listened to the audiobook and every tiime Charlie says "Nova Girl" I genuinely cringed and got the biggest ick.

i’m gonna miss lovelight farms so much. i picked up these books expecting cringe little stories that would get me through the holidays and out of my reading slump. and they did those things, but they were so adorable and fun too. i loved every character that was introduced, and seeing them all fall in love was such a good time… it made me realize how content i am to wait for a love like any of theirs.
this book was not my favorite in the series. i’m not a huge fan of spice in books, and since this story centers around a sexual relationship that eventual leads to something more… the spice was definitely there to say the least lmao. THAT BEING SAID… i loved charlie and nova. they are opposites totally drawn to each other, despite how much they both fight it. i liked nova’s hesitance to want something more, and i understand her reasons for not wanting a relationship in the beginning. i also understand charlie and how he feels like he just has to be the guy that’s a good time, and needs to earn everyone’s love even though he is so naturally kind, he doesn’t have anything to prove. they were a cute couple for sure.
i loved how nova found that she could be independent and still be in a relationship, and charlie didn’t have to have to hide his wants or needs because he was enough.
i also adored every scene with the other characters–– stella, luka, beckett, evie, layla, and caleb. all of these characters being involved in every story (even just a little bit) made it feel so comforting… like i was a part of this small town life. i will definitely revisit lovelight farms throughout the seasons🫶🏽 hoping another book comes out in the future!!

Is Business Casual…my favorite B.K. Borison book? It honestly (surprisingly) might be—though it’s definitely a close call. The autumn vibes and the extra Inglewild chaos that comes with the fall festival and the pure joy that is human golden retriever Charlie Milford just make Business Casual something really special.
I absolutely love Charlie and Nova, both as individuals and as a couple. Charlie is such a goofy, sweet character and watching him try to manage Lovelight Farms for a month is hilarious. And it’s cool to finally get inside Charlie’s head after seeing him popping in and out of Inglewild, being friends with everyone and their grandma and being a resident in all but name. I love Nova , too— her strength and insecurities and the equally complicated and loving relationship with her family. But Charlie and Nova together are just magic (and the level of casual, not at all casual affection in “Nova girl” is so incredibly swoony).
It’s such a perfect end to the series, too (though I’m crossing my fingers that Borison will write more books set in Inglewild one day). There’s something full circle about the Lovelight series—which started with Stella and a Christmas tree farm—ending with Charlie finding his own home and happiness in Inglewild. And I love that Inglewild and Lovelight Farms and all the townsfolk contained within really feel like they’ll keep existing long after the book closes. Like you could drive up to Maryland and find the right path to stumble into Inglewild.
