I enjoyed this one more than the first - funnier, sharper, and with a plot that felt faster and more convincing. It had me laughing and smirking many times and the character dynamics remained the highlight of the series. Osman balances humor with heart in such a charming way that the story feels both cozy and clever. A few twists were easier to spot, but it didn’t take away from the fun. Overall, a delightful sequel that left me eager for the next books in the series.

4 for 3.5. Overall I really liked this book (I listened to the audiobook and the narration was excellent). My only issue is the author's ongoing fat phobia and proliferation of toxic diet culture bulls**t. He goes on and on about Chris's food intake, which is simultaneously boring, adds nothing to the story and equates Chris' worth with his food intake. I can only assume this is the author projecting his own stuff, but not sure how this got past editing.

I enjoyed this one just as much as the first book.

I really love the characters, and the story was clever too. The beginning felt a bit more complicated to follow, but by the end everything came together really nicely.
