This book does what it wants to do well. It is not as profound or compelling as Becoming, but it never claimed to be. In the end it strongly delivers Obama's message about the light we each carry while also providing concrete steps and personal anecdotes to support and help us all care for it so to speak. Though not as personal in content, Obama's genuine honesty shines through her tone just like in her most vulnerable sections of Becoming. As a result, she is an author that makes it worth spending much of our time with whatever she has written.
