Really enjoyed the first two books. Excited to get to book 3 to see what happens.

⚠️ WARNING ⚠️: DO NOT READ WITHOUT READING PREVIOUS BOOKS IN SERIES

This book is a whole 10 hour movie. Not gonna lie. I loved it. It gave all the creepy, horror, scare me pantsless, make me cry vibes and so much more.

You must read the first book before reading this. Otherwise you will be soooo lost. It was over a year in between reading this and the first book and I had to refreshy memory on sooo much throughout. This is a multiple POV book. And there are SEVERAL characters. I wrote out a key for myself to keep certain characters straight with there being so many. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Afterlife gives you all your horror loving heart could desire. Death, destruction, ghosts, body horror, mayhem, murder, and of course the villains of the story. I really enjoyed seeing more from the villains perspective. Even if at times I questioned EVERYTHING. What do you expect when it's the villain. You have to expect the unexpected.

Duncan never ceases to fail when it comes to this realm and the characters and alllll of the moving parts that keeps this ride going. I love this series sooo much. It gives me that extra grit that I need when I am in a slump or going into one. Even if I wasn't this series is eye catching and hard to not want to marathon read everything.

Dear Duncan,
You son of a bitch!
Love, Paul

I will forever be pissed at Duncan for what he did to a couple of great characters. I wanted to throw my phone, yell, kick the walls and curse him out. The last one I actually did do on Twitter.
Some books make me want to be a character and join in on the adventures but I have no desire to join any of the groups in Afterlife because, well, these are not friendly ghosts. They are quite brutal and there is no chance in surviving an attack.
This is the second book of the trilogy, so there is a lot of set up toward what I can only assume will be a bloodbath for book 3.
Afterlife is totally different from the first book, Ghostland. It is not just a remake with bigger monsters. You could compare this series to Jurassic Park in that there is hard science used to bring the dead back to life and showcase it in an amusement park. Now the ghosts are contained but there are people who want them freed.
I may have been mad earlier at Duncan for what he did to my friends but I am very glad I already have book 3, Infinity, so I can find out which of my other darlings will die
