YOU SEE WHAT THE AUTHOR DID RIGHT?!
Take notes on the lack of filler used in this book, I am freakin obsessed

Only read a chapter and decided to dnf, the story itself seemed interesting, I liked the character dynamics and the world but the writing annoyed me. 3 sentences in a row started remy did or remy said which was jarring

It follows the formula for a fantasy romance to a T without having compelling characters. Want a ball? Check. We knew but we didn't acknowledge it romance? Check. Proximity? Check. It was fun, predictable, and was great to get me out of a reading slump. But boy could I see twists coming with all the heavy hints.

I had no emotional attachment to any of the characters except *maybe* Heather, Fenrin, and Charys. Remy was boring. Hale was boring despite having a good back story.

The spice was a jalapeño to a vet. The tension was better without it, and arguably a singular searing kiss could have been more impactful.

Basically I liked the idea but I didn't really like the execution.

This is the story I didn’t know I needed. SPOILERS! The ease with which the FMC and MMC find themselves together and attracted to one another is a welcome change from the warring enemies to lovers I’m used to reading.

Hale is a breath of fresh air. He’s good from the start and never wavers. It would have been nice to get his point of view in this story though.

Loved it. Will continue reading the rest of the series.
