 As always with Ursa Dax’s Cowboy Colony Mail-Order Brides series, I devoured this in one sitting - and yes, I’ve fallen head over heels for yet another Zabrian.

I am absolutely besotted with Oaken. From our very first introduction, I knew he was a good one - so full of quiet longing and genuine sweetness. He’s a compassionate soul with a heart that overflows, and the way he lit up at the chance to finally have a bride, even after things didn’t work out with Magnolia and he knew that this was a temporary situation, completely melted me.

The acts of service girlie in me was screaming. Oaken is a dream. He puts everyone before himself, never with expectation, only love. He deserves the entire universe, and I’m so damn glad he finally got his HEA.

Jaya was a wonderfully relatable FMC. She’s independent and wary, and I appreciated how she didn’t immediately jump into the idea of a marriage of convenience. Watching her slowly warm to Oaken, unpack her own fears, and allow herself to feel safe in his care made their relationship feel so grounded and real. She needed love without conditions, and Oaken offered just that.

This story was beautiful... emotional, tender, and healing in all the right ways. Considering everything Oaken’s been through, it felt like such a powerful payoff to see him finally loved the way he deserves.

Also... I ADORED getting more of Killian. I love that wee boy with my whole heart and soul.

Disappointing. Felt rushed in writing. So much random time passing we were told of but not shown. It sucks because I individually liked both characters but the story forgot to show us how they fell in love. No chemistry. The jump from straight up 2 week temp marriage to staying forever was not built up enough. This is a miss in an otherwise enjoyable series so far

Sweet,steamy and hilarious!

One more amazing addiction to this incredible series.
Finally Oaken finds his bride in a twisted and hilarious way.
Due to damage in her ship,Jaya lands/crashes in Zabria Prinar One.
And her 1st contact with her rescuer is with a hammer in his head,poor Oaken doesn't know what hit him,in more than one way.
Tenn's condition for her stay is that she has to be a bride and Oaken volunteers....
Ursa Dax does a brilliant work blending romance,steam and a delicious humor.
Excelent world building , well developed and loveable characters.
The misunderstandings are absolutely hilarious and a very special mention to Lala,the small robot companion of Jaya.
Highly recomend.

💚 “I am your husband. This is what I’m meant to do.”
~~~
Jaya is such a wonderful woman! She’s so strong, brave, kind, sweet and caring. Jaya’s spent most of her life on her ship and is not someone who stays in one place for a long time. And I loved her courage to face the challenges thrown her way. Jaya is so awesome and I loved her so, so much!
And then, there’s Oaken! Incredible, lovable and irresistible Oaken! He’s huge, strong, capable and badass as all the other alien cowboys on Zabria Prinar One. But Oaken is also so kind, sweet, caring, thoughtful, generous and so adorably awkward. Even more, I loved his eager and earnest personality. Oaken is also someone who’d put others before himself - he has such a big heart. This dorky cowboy is such a remarkable male, who deserves all the love in the Galaxy, and I absolutely adored every single thing about him!
I absolutely loved everything that happened between Jaya and Oaken! Jaya’s forced into an emergency landing on Zabria Prinar One, but by Zabrian laws she cannot stay on the planet. That’s when Oaken comes with a proposal - they marry until the parts needed for her ship arrive. I absolutely ADORED those two together!!! I loved their chemistry and every moment they spent in each other’s company. Even more, I loved all the ways Oaken went out of his way to take care of her and show her that he could be a good husband. Honestly, these were my faces whenever Oaken was just breathing around Jaya: 🥹🫠😏 - he’s just that incredible! Yes, Jaya had some doubts in the beginning, but the more time she spent with her big green husband, the more she saw the remarkable male he truly is. And when they gave into the undeniable attraction, the passionate moments they shared were so hot and I couldn’t get enough (#teamdicktaclealltheway)! Oaken and Jaya were absolutely perfect for each other and more than deserved to find happiness and love together.
In addition, the storyline was fantastic! I loved Killian being such a sweet, loyal and feral tiny tornado of a Zabrian. I loved the Warden being so caring for his convicts. I just love every single person of the community on Zabria Prinar One. And the cultural differences, the mispronunciations of… things and the girl’s chats had me cackling!
Overall, the story is another absolutely spectacular addition to the series - it’s fun, sweet, wholesome, spicy and everything Oaken deserved!
I couldn’t put it down and absolutely loved every single page of it!
Sweet Oaken finally gets his bride!
This story was such a fun read and had some hilarious moments - love the naïveté of these alien guys, it results in some really funny moments. The hat scene 👀 😂
Jaya is a tough independent pilot but she can’t resist Oaken’s charm. They were perfect together.
Another wonderful story and can’t wait for next! 💚
For most of Jaya’s life, her beloved ship has been her only home. So when she is forced into an emergency landing on Zabria Prinar One. She expects this to be just a quick stop while she has parts shuttled to her but she quickly is told she can only stay if she is a bride in the mail-order bride program. So when Oaken offers to marry her, she finds herself saying yes.
I have been waiting for Oaken’s story since we met him in Magnolia and Garrek’s book (Resisting the Alien Rider). Oaken was such a sweet and compassionate guy that I couldn’t wait to see him get his own wife, especially since he was so excited for it. Oaken was a great husband and partner. He really went out of his way to make sure Jaya was comfortable and did everything to show he can be a good husband, even though he knew it was only supposed to be temporary. Oaken was just adorable and I loved how awkward he was at times with fighting his feelings for Jaya.
Jaya has spent a lot of her life alone traveling on her ship. She doesn’t think she can stay in one place long but that changes as she spends time on the farm with Oaken. She quickly gets feelings for him, how could she not, but struggles with her need to keep her only home. I liked that Jaya didn’t jump head first into their relationship. It took time for her to accept her attraction to Oaken and want to take it further. Her lessons in husbandry were a bit amusing and really just backfired into making her see how much she cared for him.
Overall, these two were wonderful characters who had a wonderful relationship. I wasn’t expecting a marriage of convenience in this series, but I really enjoyed it. This series has quickly become one of my favorites and I really can’t wait to read the next book.
