I'll be honest, what you see is kind of what you get. If you're looking for a great work of literature, just put the book away now. BUT if you're looking to laugh a bit and read some cute and smutty, this is exactly that.
I've only got a couple real complaints. The first is that the characters accents seem off, written by someone who potentially doesn't have one of theirs at all. The second is that the main character body shames herself and only seems to love herself after she's lost weight (from grief, no less), which is unfortunate because I was looking forward to a love story for a plus size woman where her weight wasn't her entire narrative. And finally, that although it's supposedly a stand alone story, the sheer amount of characters that have the same last name or are otherwise intertwined is wildly confusing. I could really only distinguish one or two from the pack.

It came and did what it wanted to do, nothing more and nothing less.

Hilarious and swoon worthy

Mac and Freya are best friends who enjoy sitting on the couch and binge watching Heartland. A secret throws them together until they can’t deny their feeling anymore.

I loved reading their story! I couldn’t put it down. Amy Daws pulls you in until your laughing and swooning along with her characters. I can’t wait to read the rest of the books in this series!

Freya and Mac were featured in the previous books of this series. Freya is a bit of a wallflower and she likes it that way. But after Mac, a soccer player comes into her shop to have a suit tailored she can't help their playful banter. After becoming friends she knows it won't be anything else. She is a virgin and he is tall and sexy Scottsman. They decide to be just friends and they have a great friendship until Mac decides a little friends with benefits might be better.

Freya is willing to learn all she can from the experience Mac but is afraid to ruin the friendship they have. I mean what can go wrong, especially when an end date is given?

Wow, so this book broke my heart a little. I love Amy’s work usually, and was excited to read something with a plus sized FMC. Somehow this book was the most fatphobic romance I’ve read in a while. The character didn’t have low self estime, she hated her body and didn’t think she deserved anything good in life because of it. And then, when she finally falls in love and is happy the writer made sure to let us know that she finally lost weight, come on! It is also made clear through out that the MMC character loves her in spite of her body.
This book actually hurt my feelings a bit. If you want to read something with a strong plus sized FMC go for Sierra Simone or Olivia Dade.

DNF at 40%. It wasn’t terrible, but all of Freya’s negative self-talk was more than I could stand.
