I think there’s an audience out there for this book, one that loves Romance and Grand Gestures. And those certainly aren’t bad things, they just aren’t all that interesting to me! Still, I liked the daydreaming heroine and painfully shy hero, the scheming aunt and the house. It all worked well together.

Adorable and endearing with two generations of love stories.
Unfortunately, it just fell flat for me. I feel like it read more like a YA novel than I was expecting and I usually love a slow burn story, but this was just too corny for me.

Super charming tale of two more nontypical characters who made such perfect sense for each other. Not the type of characters I typically gravitate to and at times a bit much for me but the overall impression I left with was just sweet. Full of tropes - catfishing, grumpy/sunshine, enemies to lovers/ opposites attract, slow burn, forced proximity/roommates. Liked the third act conflict and characters’ responses to it. 👤👸🏼🫅🏼📈🤕⚖️🔓🌥

That was a sweet story - a bit too quirky for me, and lacking the tension I usually like in my romance novels - but still enjoyable.
