What seemed like an easy read turned out to be a challenging one but that might be because of where I’m coming from.
I may not be of same caliber with Maybell and Wesley but I know how it feels like not to be confident with yourself, to have social anxiety creep up when you least expect it, and really to just struggle communicating with people.
People who know me see me as very outgoing and friendly but those closest to me know how reserved I really am and have the tendency to distance myself especially when my anxiety is at an all time high. It’s not easy but it’s the only way I know how to keep myself at bay without people asking too many questions.
Over the years, it’s gotten easier to plaster a smile for a few hours while counting down the time I get to hole up in my room and be on my own again. It’s not a longterm solution but in time I know i’ll find my balance and once and for all i’ll finally be at peace with myself.

I will never get tired of Sarah Hogle’s romcoms.
The banter between the characters is simply perfect even making me laugh out loud at times.
I did like her previous book, You Deserve Each Other, a bit more than this one but it was a quick fun read nevertheless.
