Well, Maybell and Wesley meet in the most awkward of circumstances. If I was in their shoes during the moment they found out they both owned the property, I would have thrown the biggest tantrum. Screams, cries, tears. All of it.
The build up to their relationship is slow and steady. You can always tell it’s going to blossom with the broody ones.

This book has it all. Forced proximity, enemies to lovers and grumpy sunshine. It was fun to read and I enjoyed how she was a bit of a loose unit. Living in a daydream world she created for herself.
There were touches of mental health, anxiety stuff in here, and a guy who was thirty who hadn’t been sleeping with every hot woman he set eyes on *gasp*
The whole Scotland thing was a bit random for me but I guess it was for the ending to happen… would have loved a bit more of an epilogue, but that’s just me wanting more of the story :)
Single POV, low spice, 16+

5 not so bashful stars!
I wish I could give this book more than 5 stars it was that good. I absolutely adore this book. Going in I wondered how 2 shy people would keep me entertained and let me tell you I never should’ve worried.
Everyone has that one place that makes them happy, for Maybell that place is a cute coffee shop inside her head. Her coffee shop is the place she goes to escape from reality. I really enjoyed watching her happy place transform as the story progressed. Little things changed in her VR as her real life changed and seeing that play out was a brilliant plot point that showed her emotional state.
I’m usually more drawn to alpha male characters in stories but I’m still struggling to pull my heart strings back from Wesley. He is that adorable teddy bear we all want to squeeze and love even when it’s ratty. Despite his rough demeanor he’s actually pretty sweet once you get to know him.
This story will pull on your heartstrings with its realism and fantasy mix. It’s the perfect read to restore your faith in humanity and a good reminder that no matter where you go or how far you can find happiness in the last place you expect.

This was really cute. A very light, quick read perfect for summer or as a palate cleanser between other books. I liked the setting of an old house in the Smokies and I appreciated the portrayal of a male love interest with social anxiety. The catfishing plot point and the fact that Maybell was catfished with Wesley's photos specifically was a bit much, in my opinion. I couldn't suspend my disbelief that much. Additionally, the pretty random setting change in the second-to-last chapter felt awkward. I get why they had to be separated (and I loved the phone call!) but them staying in the US would have felt more natural.
grace if you’re seeing this….this book’s main character is a hopeless romantic who daydreams about an imaginary coffee shop….
