I loved this sweet story of a girls relationship with her grandmother.  The fairy tales, the land of almost awake, and the real things they all represented were so inspiring.

Break my heart again, why won't you?

This was a wonderful read. Heartwarming, heartbreaking, tragic and wonderful at the same time. It took me some time to get into the story, but once I did I was hooked. I love how everything was connected, how granny told Elsa everything through fairytales. I just really love Fredrik Backman and his unique writing style. Definitely one of my all time favourite authors. So yes, of course this is another 5 star rating for me.

I loved the framing of this story and how it uses a 7-year old narrator in a unique way. But due to the many many characters, I sometimes got a little lost or detached from the book as a whole.

I am sure the author didn't plan for this book to be a tutorial on grand-parenting...however, I aspire.
