My desire to read this book stemmed from a very personal situation. I believe that listening to people's stories is one of the greatest gift of life and I am so very grateful that this story was written and that I have had the opportunity to read it. I liked this story so much that I have now reserved the audio book version as well because I want to hear it read in an authentic Hmong voice. I think that will add a layer to the story that was missing for me.
