Such touching war time stories in this book! And both sweet & sad events in Maisie's life. Another winner! . . . My library app has all the Maisie Dobbs audiobooks. It's been so fun to binge listen :)

The best one so far, I think. A good mystery and big macro plot moves.

With each book in the series the writing has improved. Much less irrelevant, repetitive detail. Maisie has become a nicer person, finally has a boyfriend she seems to care about and is much more confident. I’ll carry on with the series.

Another blinder of a book by Jacqueline Winspear. I love Maisie Dobbs and her sensibilities, the way she nibbles away at the case in hand until she cracks it. I also get to learn little nuggets about the 1st World War. A great detective series for anyone wanting a new set of books with a delightful lead character.

I think this may be my new favorite book in the Maisie Dobbs series. The case that she's working on is very interesting but it's the changes in her personal life that make this such a great book. I really look forward to seeing where the series goes after this!

My fave so far. I keep Jacqueline Winspera series as my "comfort reads", so I have followed Masie's adventures through the years one book at a tike, as I know she is always ready for me to get to the next chapter whenever I feel to. But this time, I think I will have to read the next book quite soon. Things are changing in many ways, and I need to know!

One thing to note about all the Maisie Dobbs books - while each crime is different, the plot lines of all of them are fairly similar. To me, this is okay, since it makes for a casual read, but readers who are looking for novelty in each book may be disappointed.
