Quite poor, I couldn’t finish it. When Elizabeth started to berate Darcy for Wickham’s poor behaviour (completely illogically), I gave up. Ridiculous, poorly characterised and poorly written.

This jam packed story feels like an epic despite it's not being page length enough for an epic.
The catalyst was Darcy does not get his letter to Elizabeth. She never finds out about Wickham and doesn't get to begin her change of heart.
When Lydia elopes, E asks for D's help despite still thinking the worst of him. From then on we get:
Mr. Bennet's risky health
Finding Lydia and arranging the marriage
Breaking the engagement ( more on that later)
Bingley and Jane
Meanwhile, after a few thorough arguments, ODC lose, find, lose and eventually find each other again and fall in love
Wedding
Another fight
AND Wickham shows up again!
Seriously, this book is exhausting and will give you whiplash, but it's VERY good.

My few little caveats: because this is an epic story, but not really, it doesn't get to deal with some serious issues. Elizabeth and Lydia hear the most atrocious things, but they are never heard of again- really?
Lydia, who had run away with a man, been very clearly I flagrante with him and could potentially be preggers, goes home like nothing happened and there are no repracussions? Just sayin...

I will add, there are some swoon-worthy scenes between ODC. I kept hearing this as an audiobook, narrated by Brady Smith (Yum!)

Definitely a must read!

A Pride and Prejudice variation which begins after the Hunsford proposal but no letter is received from Darcy. Then Lydia's elopement occurs. How will they have a happy ending. Enjoyed the story more before the wedding rather than after.
But overall an entertaining story.

I enjoyed this a heck of a lot more than I initially anticipated I would - and I'm not sure why I'm surprised by this outcome.

The dramatics were of the perfect amount. It never reached my own personal threshold for drama - you know, that point in some stories where everything just gets to be too damn much and you lose interest? Yeah, that never happened. And while the lack of communication and assumptions between ODC ran rampant, it was still really enjoyable. It also trucked along at a fairly nice even pace and was an ideal length that I just zoomed through.

I will say I saw the whole Wickham arc coming a mile away, because nobody is dead unless the body is literally decaying in front of me. And I found myself asking did we really need that whole arc anyways? The answer is absolutely not. But it was still at least tolerable.

Two character renditions in this variation deserve a shoutout for how they are utilized and portrayed: Mrs. Bennet and Lydia. I know, it's almost unfathomable to think about: a P&P variation where both of those characters aren't their infuriating and annoying selves. But it's the truth.

Mrs. Bennet actually had a backbone against Lydia. I was like - Sign me up! I know it was only a single moment but damn if I wasn’t impressed because I think that’s the first time I’ve ever read it happening.
And Lydia smartening up re: Wickham in the nick of time? Yes please, I’ll have some more of that. It was at least believable if not obviously contrived for the sake of plot progression. But it didn't matter, because I was still all for it.

I would’ve liked a bit more of a Caroline set down. Explicit and in detail would’ve been preferred, but I'm not butthurt that most of it would've occurred off page. I also would’ve liked a little more time with Georgiana to see her relationship with Lizzy evolve less quickly and more naturally. If there was more of that, and less of Wickham (like his whole second arc I could've done without) and this would’ve been rated even higher.
