"In the darkness, two shadows, reaching through the hopeless, heavy dusk. Their hands meet, and light spills in a flood like a hundred golden urns pouring out of the sun."
------
This book was absolutely fantastic. There are legitimately no words that express how good this book is, WHAT.

4.5 ⭐️ “The Song of Achilles” by Madeline Miller is truly a beautifully told tale. For someone like me who does not know mounts about the old greek stories but still has basic knowledge about gods and important figures, it was a perfect level. I neither felt lost or confused nor bored with over explanation.
While the book is often described as heartbreaking and sad, I found it wholesome. Getting to know the characters and feeling strongly about their relationship, you get a sense of care for them. In the beginning my heart was with Achilles, but further into the book Patroclus and Briseis won my affection. The shift of attitude in Achilles was not welcomed by me but it was understandable because of the damage war had on him. That this sensation appeared for Patroclus as well in the end gave further means of explanation.
Overall I believe that, as a reader, you should not enter the book with any expectations. Letting the book flow and lead me to where it wanted was the best thing to really get as much out of the novel.
For me, the delicate portrayal of the characters and the flow of the story makes this book a success.
