After coming across one of Noor Unnahar’s poems that really touched me, I thought I would try out a full-length collection. Instapoetry is a sub-genre that I really have not explored, and I was interested if it would be for me! Alas, it is not. I appreciated the brevity and accessibility, but found it often lacked depth or meaning. The themes stayed consistent throughout, unfortunately becoming quite repetitive. I thought I would enjoy the artwork more than I did, but often found my eyes either skimming over it, or found myself completely lost as to what it was supposed to mean or how it connected to the poems. That said, there were some beautiful words and truths in here, and I will certainly return to a few of these poems.

A quick and beautiful little book of poetry. The words spoke to me in ways that were unexpected.

This had some really beautifully written poems and I’m so glad they weren’t any one-line tumblr quotes.
