Yet another heartwarming YA romance from Lora Richardson - and I love it, of course!
When reading the two previous books in this series (can all be read as a stand-alone, by the way) I've had some difficulties understanding Valerie's attitude, so it was interesting to finally read her story. When getting only glimpses before, I thought she was a bit more shallow than her sisters. That presumption changed during reading "Broken Outsider". I can certainly feel that it's a little odd to be afraid of getting your heart broken without even having experienced something like that, but we're all different. Of course it hurts to be heartbroken, but the experience before that is worth it, I think!
Wes is probably my favourite among the three guys we've met in the series, but maybe it's just because he's still very fresh in my memory! I like that he's not giving up on Valerie, yet he's not pushing her before she's ready. The gift he gives her in the end of the book is so adorable!
It feels kind of sad to not get to spend more time with the Sparrow sisters, but I'm sure Richardson soon will be publishing something equally sweet and swoony! In the meantime I can enjoy her Juniper series, which I still haven't read.

I felt that this was the most rushed part of the Sparrow Sisters series. Although Valerie and Wes had 2 months ahead of them to test the boundaries and make decisions, it felt like 1.5 of those months flew by in only 4-5 chapters, although it was longer. I think I wanted a little slower burn, a little more extension to this series, a little more mmmmmm. I'm sorry this series is over, but there may be hints of some prequel story or two?
