This is a visual story. The movie was brilliant, and Stephanie Leonidas' narration were beautiful, but just listening imparted none of the magic of actually seeing the story unfold.

I actually haven't gotten a chance to see the movie yet, but I received this lovely book for my birthday and had to read it right away. The entire screenplay is here (including some scenes and dialog ultimately cut from the film), all illustrated with Dave McKean's deceptively simple storyboard sketches. There are also some lovely stills from the film, as well as backstage photos.
I gave it 3 stars just because it's not the best way for me to read the story. I love the story and the movie and when I bought the book I thought it was a graphic novel so that's on me. I do also like that he breaks away from the manuscript to make a joke at one point. I just don't prefer to read manuscripts maybe unless it's my among my favorite movies.
This book was unique, magical and cryptic. I loved it. Such a clever story idea.
Made me want to watch the movie again. I wish there were more original sketches and such. Dave Mckean is quite possibly my favorite artist.
This is an interesting look at how the drafted script made it to screen. Little edits to the finished version can be seen and readers can understand why they were made.
