So I knew that I would never like it as much as Foolish Hearts, which was very much a "right book at the right time" experience for me, but I still liked Famous in a Small Town rather a lot. The dialogue and banter in Mills' books continue to wow me. The internet-esque humor in the conversations always have me marveling at how well it captures how people I know actually talk. Also, there we some unexpected plot points in this book that I found interesting.

A fun summer romance and coming of age. Very realistic and well fleshed out characters and a unique overall premise. More heartache than I was expecting but excellent.

Dang. Super good characters with such well done individual voices even though the friend group of COURSE speaks the same language. Backstory deluxe. Twists from cleverness heaven. Message that is SO DAMN GOOD. I’m totally going to copy her. And, I’m in love with Acadia, Illinois, and with Emma Mills.

So why only 4 stars? There’s a world beyond Acadia that never even partly crashes in. But that’s okay.

A story about four good friends in a small town. Like most Emma Mills books, this has a lot of good banter and a light amount of romance.
