I love it as much as "Cinder" and "Fairest"! If you haven't read this series yet, I suggest getting your hands on "Stars Above" before starting this one so you can read "The Queen's Army" and "Carswal's Guide to Being Lucky" for some background information on some of the characters 😊 I decided to read them in chronological order, so I had the advantage 😅 My rating for romance is 💖💖

this was soooo much fun. a great continuation from the first book that raised the stakes and got me even more invested. the separate plotlines melded together so well and i’m so excited to see all of the characters together like ugh that’s family.

scarlet wolf and thorne were perfect additions i love all of them so much. scarlet and wolf’s romance was one of the best fastburns ive ever read they just balance each other out so well and have great chemistry. thorne is hilarious and his banter with cinder was one of my favorite parts of this book.

overall very much enjoyed this maybe even more than the first one GASP WHO SAID THAT…?

I enjoyed this one a little more than the original Cinder! The introduction of new characters and story elements drew me in more. Interested to see how the situations with Luna and between various characters are resolved! Definitely an adventurous read

Important for the storyline and introducing new characters but still fairly boring. I feel like she's ripping off of Twilight with the half man/half wolf thing that this story really didn't need. It seems like a more cogent plotline would have been genetically altered Lunars and to leave wolves out of it. I thought it was really strange.

This book took an interesting route, weaving together multiple storylines. Following Scarlet and Wolf on their rescue mission and Cinder and Thorne's escape from jail kept the plot moving, though I personally found myself more invested in Cinder and Thorne's adventure. While Wolf lacked depth, there's always room for character development in future books. Scarlet's impulsiveness and fiery temper could be grating at times, particularly when paired with Wolf's blandness.Their dynamic felt underdeveloped compared to the delightful friendship between Cinder and Thorne – their contrasting personalities created a fun and engaging dynamic.

The book shines in its portrayal of Cinder. I'm excited to see her growth and self-discovery. Thorne provided excellent comedic relief, and the world-building expanded, offering a deeper glimpse into this captivating universe. While further development is desirable, it's a step in the right direction. The simmering tension between Kai and Cinder, with their undeniable pining for each other, adds another layer of intrigue. Despite some uneven characterizations, the overall experience remained enjoyable and entertaining.
