Finally it's happened to me,
right in front of my face and I just cannot hide it.

Happiness, the all elusive emotion, is trying to take over. Kace's friends are slowly entering that coupley, lovey world. Trying to make him part of rainbows and unicorn land, but Kace knows he will never be part of that world.

Talk about depressing! Kace has a permanent position as Eeyore's black cloud. I get it. I can't understand the agony, the shame, and the guilt. I can say I just want to hug that gorgeous man until he can't help but smile. I was so excited to finally read Kace's story I wasn't prepared for my emotional response.

Warning, this book has a depressed and wallowing in darkness main character. His guilt and Debbie Downer nature may cause readers to secluded themselves. Or I secluded myself so I wouldn't be interrupted for the seventh hundred time...whichever.

The Bourbon series has been a home. I have family, friends, and a killer workout. Leaving here feels like running away. Clearly the author needs to give us some Diego....and a side of Blane.

Because where else would we go for the panty melting man candy!?!

This was truly a story of Kace Haywood’s redemption. It is the fourth book in the Bourbon series, and it can be read as a standalone, but he is a prominent character in the previous three books.

One night, years ago, Kace let his anger get the better of him. Sure, he was provoked and had already been having a sh*tty day, but he was also a trained boxer and knew when to stop. But that night, he couldn’t.

Now, he’s full of regret and can’t let go of the past. He feels like he ruined not only his life that night, but also the lives of others. The man from that night had a family, and Kace took him away from them. Kace watches out for them – the wife and the daughter – always leaving presents for the little girl.

Yet, he still lets the past haunt him and hold him back. He’s living in the darkness. He only hasJett. But then he meets Lyla, Jett’s girlfriend’s, Goldie, best friend, he can’t deny his attraction toward her. Lyla is much like Goldie. They’re both fun-loving and always cracking jokes.

Kace keeps fighting his feelings for Lyla, even though he knows the feelings are mutual. He just doesn’t feel like he’s good for her. Yet, in his dark moments, Lyla is the one he turns to. She’s good for him, and she’s the one who can help calm him down.

When Kace finally learns the truth about the man he unalived, that’s when the healing process began and he was able to forgive himself. Honestly, I wasn’t really surprised when the man’s widow told Kace the truth.

Anyway, it was great that the broody and mysterious Kace finally got the closure he needed. He was able to let go of the demons haunting him and be with Lyla. He was also able to clear his name and truly just move forward in his life.

Wow! Talk about Meghan Quinn spinning it with her writing!
I was blown away with this story.

Kace was introduced to us in her Bourbon series which of course you must read if you haven't already.

Kace had my heart along with him while reading this book. I wanted to hug him, heal him and was so happy he had Layla there to show him that he can move past his sins and tortured past. HE is one hot boxer who I would love to have a couple of rounds in his ring with him!

The chemistry between him and Layla was sweet, hot & just beautifully written.

I liked how this story was told in Kace POV. It goes from present and past times in his life. the story flowed well and I felt it gives us enough information on how to understand Kace.

You want to read a story that will capture your heart and take you on an emotional ride of emotions, this is the book for you!

Go read this book! I highly recommend it!

I fell in love with Kace from book #1. I thought for sure something would transpire between Kace and Goldie from the first moment the two of them met. I was in awe of the man who was in love with a woman that belonged to his best friend.

I was enamored by the man who I knew carried secrets that no one could have ever guessed until his story was told in Bourbon Truths. Kace is a very wounded, complex alpha who thinks he deserves nothing. Layla thinks he deserves everything and wants to be the one to give it to him.

This book was everything. Kace’s past ripped my soul apart. I was desperately trying to hope Kace found his happiness with the one person that spoke to his soul, Layla. The push and pull was amazing between Kace and Layla. He needed that one special person to love him despite all his faults and put his demons to rest.

Bourbon Truths was an amazing way to end the entire series. I’m happy that Kace also found what he was so desperately seeking.

As I stated in a previous review, this series is one of the best I've read and will be going back to do a re-read time and time again!

Layla and Kace are amazing togther and I love how Layla gives him a race for his money, the banter that they Chuck at each other is so great.
