Rick and Co are still hanging in their little enclave. Things get serious as they have to look at how sustainable their lives are. Emotions are running high, shit is going down, Rick has a Revelation (capital R there), and stuff happens that will forever alter some people (again).
I'm really getting bored with this series. Kirkman seems intent on his original promise to keep it going indefinitely. Nothing of permanance ever seems to happen and we're relying on a few still surviving and maybe kind of charming characters to keep us going. It's like the zombie equivalent of How I Met Your Mother. Body parts are lost, people that characters love are eaten, morality of humanity is questioned, blah blah blah.
The relative calmness of Alexandria is under attack from a huge zombie horde. The community survives due to the preparations hat Rick and his group had before. The whole paranoia vs calm leadership dilemma is resolved naturally by the undead.
Wow. I really liked this volume. Lots of action and emotion, and ends in a great direction.
Basically everybody got some in this damn volume. Like holy shit.
Andrea is quite quickly becoming one of my favourite characters in this series. Just thought I'd note, because it was definitely not something I was expecting as someone who wasn't a fan of her in the show.

As was expected Rick assumes the leadership role of the new community and finally a few dull issues we get some real zombie action. A heard of zombies find the new community and the walls that was supposed to keep the zombies outside and not so zombie proof after all. Rick finds new love even though it is extremely short lived. Rick and others try to escape the zombies trying one of the earlier methods but it is not so successful and when a shocking incident occurs, Rick goes berserk and into a zombie killing spree. Rick along with several members of the community stand their ground and kill the whole heard of zombies and they realize that their best chance of survival is in a group and not alone.
