There’s always that one odd bad episode of Buffy, in the comics this is that bad episode.

First Giles aged a lot in the drawing style for a series supposed set after Buffy 11 issue one and before Buffy 11 issue 12.

Second the story is just boring.

Third the link with the demon to Giles is cliche and boring.

Fourth Giles falls for a vampire and they constantly discuss killing one another.

But I liked the suggested mix tape listening to go with the story.

Not the best but not the worst either. I like seeing this new Giles in his own stories, I wish they could have done more of that.

I hate that I hated this :( The magically resurrected Giles has made it to high school age, and is enrolled in a school even more messed up than Sunnydale High. Shenanigans ensue.

I didn't believe the motivations for an instant, the story was "whatever," the other major character was superficial at best, the art was confusing and most of the time between the dialogue and the action I had no idea what was happening. Boo.

As someone who is really attached to this character and who LOVED the kid!Giles arc in the Buffy comics, I was overjoyed to hear about this miniseries and had very high expectations. I found myself a little disappointed. The characterization felt off and the story was disjointed, not enthralling enough for me to care about it on a month to month basis.

Meh. I wish it was a little more... high schooly? If that makes sense. Maybe I don't love Giles as much without the rest of the group. :/

I read the first comic in this set, but the reviews plus my own observations pretty much told me it'd be a waste of time. It's nonsensical and has no bearing on the rest of the Buffy story. Giles' thoughts sound *nothing* like Giles, filled with pop culture references that he'd never have understood before (Flava Flav? 99 problems? What?!?) and an unintelligible attraction to a vamp. Nah fam i'm good.

Disappointing. Relies too heavily on contrivances and the relationship between Giles and Girl Blue borders on the incomprehensible.
