REVIEW: Born of Blood and Ash by @jennifer_l_armentrout

This beast of a book (seriously) is over 700 pages is a roller coaster ride of emotion. It picks up right where AFITF ends. Once again JLA brilliantly brings trauma and its healing to life on the page. She writes Sera’s trauma and her journey to healing so beautifully. We see her go through all the emotions and the consequences of not dealing with her trauma. I love that JLA didn’t rush the healing process for Sera; it made her all the more relatable. 

There were some new twists that I hadn’t predicted, and others I had. We meet a few new characters, and there is one I REALLY hope we see in The Primal of Blood and Bone— I think he and Cas are gonna be the equivalent of Reaver and Kieran in The War of Two Queens. 

My only drawback with this book was the ending. It wasn’t a bad ending, it was quite good. But it indicates that something is going to happen that I was REALLY hoping wasn’t going to happen, and it makes me sad for the character(s) it’s going to affect. I love so many of these characters and they’ve come to mean so much to me. I will forever love JLA for that. I can’t wait to see some of them again in The Primal of Blood and Bone. #fleshandfire #frombloodandash #sera #nyktos #jenniferlarmentrout

Not going to lie, the first like quarter to half of this book was a bore. It was so slow and nothing was happening. And then it took a turn and was back to back information and twists and turns and intriguing. Overall I still liked the book and I still loved the characters, but the first portion easily could've been condensed to like 3 chapters tops. Can't wait to see how the next book of B&A goes and intertwines with F&F.
