I love them all so much. But the Draken are the real ones!!!

The fact this took me months to read and I finished countless books before this one should say enough. Way too long, too many large blocks of text that did not further the plot. I really can’t believe there’s supposed to be another of these books.

Listen I really wanted to like this book more. I really enjoyed all the previous books, but I had a really hard time getting into this one. First I just could not remember what had happened in the last books and didn’t want to start because I did not know was what happening. When I did start it I was really into it, but then it lost my attention and kept loosing it. Their are parts I really enjoyed. I loved seeing the growth Sera went through. That was probably my favourite part of the book. Overall, I just wanted this book to be over, and I feel like the series is dragging on. Also, I felt like it needed some more editing, for both pacing and to review some of the wording. Sometimes characters said things that took me right out of the story. Her books really remind me of Sarah J Mass books, but I with their was a little more originality as a lot of things where so similar. Also, they have so much sex in this book and I'm not really here for it. Like I’ve read books like this before but Ash and Sera are just having sex at the most improper times. Like need to go to a meeting? Need to greet people? Need to talk about our feelings? Nope, let’s have sex.
I knew from like the first 100 pages that Sera was pregnant. And it took to long for them to address it. Like I figured it out 600 pages ago, let’s see Ash’s reaction.
Also figured out that Poppy was Sortia and Sera/Ash’s grandchild at like the 600 mark which was fun.

This has to be one of my favourite series -- it really reignited my love for fantasy. I love the characters, I love how real Sera and Ash feel - they have to be my favourite book couple, I love the wit, banter and dialogue.
I was worried that Sera's trauma would be brushed aside, but JLA wrote her recovery so well, it has got to be one of the best portrayals of that I've read.
Now onto the reason this book isn't getting 5 stars from me:
I reread all three books in the series before starting this one, and that meant that some inconsistencies in the plot, mythology and storyline really stood out. Most of them were small things, but they threw me off.
Secondly, I hate the whole vadentia thing -- I get why such a thing would exist, but it felt like a lazy plot device.
I also think that Kolis' character wasnt very consistent with what we saw of him previously, especially dialogue wise. That could be explained by his stasis, but he was *too* unhinged (almost in a cartoonist supervillain way), instead of the cold, stable demeanor of a psychopath.
That said, I can't wait to see Sera and Ash again in FBAA (and on my next reread).

My rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Trope: Romantasy/Suspense
Spice: ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
Synopsis: This is the final installment for this series. Ash and Sera continue to fight against Kolis and try to find a way to entomb him.
Thoughts: This book dragged for me for at least the first half. There was so much repetition of words and thoughts. At about the 60% mark there was more action and more plot was revealed. I’m thankful this is the last book in the series because if there was another I likely wouldn’t read it. The book would have been much better if it was about 300 pages less.
