I love this series! I’m so sad for this to be the last book featuring Sera and Ash as the MCs but the ending was pretty perfect! This books brings us right to where we need to pick up when the next book on the From Blood and Ash series will pick up. I can’t wait!

I preordered this book I was so excited for it, then it took me a month to really get into reading it. The first 20% seemed to draaaag but when it did finally pick up, I couldn’t put it down. I laughed out loud and teared up several times 🥲💖 

 

I still find myself confused by some of the lore 😅 although this book did clear some of that up. I’m not sure if it’s something I’m not connecting, or things yet to be revealed in the FBAA books. There were one or two characters I couldn’t remember who the heck they were and when I searched for their name in the book couldn’t find an answer so I guess that information is just lost to time lmao. 

 

I feel like I’m going to forget everything by the time the next FBAA book is released.

When I say I threw my Kindle across the room when I finished this… let me tell you.

This book was the most aggravating and I’m angry at the ending but I don’t want to include spoilers. Just be prepared for a let down…

The spice again, as it has throughout the entire series, felt incredibly arbitrary and occurred at inopportune times like the characters had no concern for major events happening literally right around them (in the middle of an epic battle). There are multiple instances of sex being used as a reward and SA being used as a threat/punishment as well as multiple instances of dubious consent (“I’m going to fu*k you now…”) that are just gross.

This book is 700+ pages and this is the 4th book so some 2,000+ pages in total for the series but the epic battle took less than 100 pages.

I’ve been done with this series since the second book and I’m glad this is the end which made me sad because I had such high hopes for it.
