The book itself only deserves 3 stars but Nyktos & Sera are still my favorites so I’m giving it 4 for now.
Overall the book definitely could have used some more editing* because there are several stretches that I skimmed through (thank you adhd

I really wanted to like this book, but as the last book in this series, I was underwhelmed. It felt unnecessarily long and the pacing was very slow throughout the middle. It got exciting at the last 25%, but it felt like it took forever to get to the point. Because if you read it in the author recommended order with Blood and Ash, you know where the story is going- it’s just a matter of getting to the point. This also took me forever to read, over a month, so I kind of forgot how the book started by the end of it.

Too slow and repetitive, it’s annoying that everything rushes during the last chapter. That’s not how stories should be.

Quite descriptive, the world and prophecy that we have been following since Blood and Ash keeps developing. However, in order to build this plot/story, the writer repeats herself a bit too much. Creating unnecessary conversations that had been settled before or in the previous books. Although, the characters are endearing (Jadis, Reaver, Ash) and their story engaging, I definitely did not like the repetitiveness.
