Really torn between 3 & 4 ⭐️

Adored Attes, Nektas, Jadis, Reaver and the ensemble of characters that we got more of in this book.
I felt it was about 200-300 pages too long.
FAR too many internal monologues about Sera’s anxiety and the lack of communication / miscommunication trope is one of my least favorites to read.

The constant spicy scenes actually started to irritate me. It detracted from their chemistry and the main plot (if you can believe that).

I don’t feel satisfied at the ending, but I guess it’s because their whole story really hasn’t finished, it just picks back up with Poppy now. There are still MANY unanswered questions which I hope will be covered through Poppy’s story.

Overall I feel it’s anticlimactic and I didn’t care enough about any of the characters except Attes

DID NOT FINISH: 40%

This was exhausting to read. It was beyond fatiguing to be in Sera's head. The dialogue was childish and JLA just kept recycling the same info again and again and again. 40% into the book and I learned a whopping 1 new plot point about her foresight (which just felt like a cheating way to "learn" plot points). I'm so mad I wasted money on this tbh

Wow, what an ending! It was a little slow at first but it gets really good. I can’t believe this is the last in this series. I love Ash and Sera. A great book and definitely worth the read to end this series.

2.5 ⭐️ This one was really tough. I adored the first book in this series, so I forced myself to finish this one where I gave up after Book 3 of Blood & Ash.

More than anything, this desperately needed a more discerning editor. More than half of this book could’ve been cut and nothing of substance would’ve been lost. It was too long and too repetitive, and in the end, the important action we’d spent 600 pages leading up to felt rushed.

I’m disappointed, but then again, I should’ve known better from experience.
