Took me a minute to understand what was happening with the time jumps and the references to past/future wars BUT once I got into it I found myself enjoying it a lot. Not a massive ‘trials’ fan but I did love following two FMCs who were not ‘good’ and made questionable decisions.

I don't typically care for POV in two different timelines but this was written so well that it worked. It was giving me The Witcher: Blood Origin vibes. It was a good mix of dark, light, humorous, and tension filled.
