As always, incredible storytelling and pacing. I feel like I enjoyed other installments better, but this set up exciting stuff to come

This book may have longer stretches where things are uneventful compared to book 4, but the ending is more than enough to make up for that.
In other words, this one is another slam dunk from Jordan.

Before I said that The Shadow Rising was my favorite since starting the series. I felt that Fires of Heaven wasn't as good as the previous entry.  This book Lord of Chaos has surpassed book five in everyway. The first part is still in just as intriguing as the previous volume but its not striking and different than what I have read previously, then  Nynaeve healed stilling and from there everything started to steamroll. Threads, stories and characters that Robert Jordan had brewing in different places started to come together in unique and great ways Rand seeing Perrin again for the first time in a long time. Matt being his usual wool headed self so much so that it was frustrating. Everything leading to the epic and momentum shifting battle in the finale of the book that I fear the show will never be able to do justice. This is now my new favorite of the series. It took a while to get to this high and I feel that this series is well worth it so far. I know I haven't hit the slog yet but if anyone is hesitant about picking this up know that it takes a while to find its own voice. I also feel that this series as gotten darker than as each book goes forward and remember this was written in 1994 the same year as Wizard's First Rule but still two years before A Game of Thrones.
